Merry Christmas! For those that celebrate, how was your day? I hope it was great.
I went home last night to get prepped for Christmas & spent the night there, while Tyler stayed with Emma. The kids were super excited to get to hang out with mom finally. Then, in the morning, they were sooo excited to get to finally see Emma & do Christmas together. Emma was sooo happy when they walked in. It really brightened everyone's day.

Christmas was really special. It really is just about being with the people you love. The hospital made it extra special. Child Life brought in big bags of gifts for each of the kids. They have a sibling program here where they focus on what the siblings go through with having a sick sibling, and it's really neat. It's made a stressful situation feel a lot sweeter today.
We got to hang out for about four hours together, then they had to leave (per hospital rules). We're hoping it'll just be a few more days, and then Emma will be able to go home. She has some nutritional goals to meet first, though. She met the one yesterday, and today they added more to it. She's struggling to meet that one because she feels full so easily, but we're really hoping that by the end of the night, she'll be able to finish what they gave her. She's doubting she can do it.
Obviously I had to take a Christmas pic. Of the bunch I took, this one was the least violent one. haha. (There were some headlocks and mild strangling in the other ones.)

They have her on carafate to help with some pain (it's not due to an ulcer, like it's often used for). It seems like it helps a bit? She has been having some slightly odd pains throughout and then some significant leg jolting/twitching. They think she might be low on magnesium, so they'll check tomorrow when they do her daily labs.
And...a couple more photos. I yelled, "smile!" which is why most of them didn't. haha. They get really funny when I try doing any pics with them. (They are doing it to be funny.) I've mentioned that Emma is tiny. You can see it better here. T2 and Violet have had growth spurts in the last year. Violet is almost exactly my height, and T2 is now barely taller than me.

Anyway, if she hits her goal today, they'll be adding more for her to drink tomorrow. That will be the amount they really want her to be able to drink in a day. Based off of today, this would be too much, but I'm hoping maybe something will get better between now and then. If she can do this, they'll consider letting her go home and continuing to figure this out with her at home and a lot more doctor visits to keep an eye on her. They'll also be getting results back from the biopsies next week that will hopefully help give some answers.
